Bank of Baroda becomes second PSB after SBI to hit ₹1 lakh crore market cap

Bank of Baroda share price: Despite sell off in key benchmark indices, Bank of Baroda shares continued to attract buying interest by stock market bulls. Bank of Baroda share price today opened upside and went on to hit intraday high of 194.80 apiece on NSE, logging around 3.50 per cent intraday gain during Monday morning deals. While ascending to this intraday high, Bank of Baroda share came close to its 52-week high of 197.20 per share levels and hit an important milestone of 1 lakh crore market capital. After achieving this 1 lakh crore market valuation, Bank of Baroda became only second public sector bank after State Bank of India (SBI) achieve this feat. Currently, SBI share price has a market cap of around 5.07 lakh crore.

However, in overaall list of Indian companies by market capitalisation, Reliance Industries Ltd iis still at number one sp[ot with a market cap of 17.29 lakh crore. Tata Consultancey Services or TCS is the second most valuable Indian company in terms of market capitalisation followed by HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Hindustan Unilever Ltd, ITC and Infosys. In this list of most valuuable Indian companies by market cap, State Bank of India (SBI) is positioned at eighth spot while HDFC Ltd and Bharti Airtel is placed at ninth and tenth spot respectively.

So, HDFC Bank is most valuable Indian bank in terms of market cap with a value of around 9 lakh crore while ICICI Bank is second most valuable Indian bank in terms of market capitalisation with net worth of around 6.44 lakh crore. SBI is third most valuable Indian listed bank with a market valuation of around 5.07 lakh crore. Kotak Mahindra Bank and Axis Bank are following SBI with a market cap of around 3.63 lakh crore and near 2.98 lakh crore respectively.

Bank of Baroda shares are one of the multibagger stocks that Indian stock market has produced in last one year. In fact, it one of those Bank Nifty stocks belonging to public sector undertaking category, which powered Bank Nifty to climb to a new peak of 44,498.
